Check out the 3 wheel van at the NEC Practical Classic Car Show 2016
Between the 5-6 March the Practical Classic Car Show was on at the NEC IN Birmingham
I went down on the Sunday 6th march to see the Only Fools and Horses 3 wheel van being competed for restoration. It was a fantastic day seeing the whole structure and hearing all the news of how they have gone about getting the van back on the road.
During the day they had certain stages that they showed us and talked about issues they had whist re-building the engine. The body work and any maintenance to the 3 wheel vans structure was all done before the restoration over the weekend.
Only Fools & Horses Van
The weekend was all about getting the engine running and getting the body back onto the vehicle. The engine and body is so light was funny just seeing them pick the body or the engine up with ease.
Jim Sullivan (John Sullivan’s son) was the guest star to drive the car off the stage when it was completed but Jim had to go home so the car was driven around the stage area by Channel 4’s Ant Anstead. Which to me I thought he was the luckiest man on earth at that point. Hearing that engine start-up was the best sound I have ever heard and will never hear anything better than it again.
Was a fantastic day and was great to see 1 of the original cars put back on the road. I hope you enjoy the pictures I have from the day.
