Only Fools and Horses Theme Music

Have you seen this Only Fools and Horses Theme Music from The Sullivan Sees. Its really cool and worth sharing amongst other fools fans. Take a look and listen to our favorite sitcom theme music with its 80s indie style slant.

You may notice that it’s a combination of the opening and closing lyrics.

We caught up with Mike Cooper to find out how and why this was put together.

“I like chocolate a lot, just ordinary milk chocolate, I love it, but every so often I like to have chocolate in a different form, with honeycomb, caramel or with raisins, and rather than have a bar, I’ll have it in square, round or triangular  shapes.  So too the Only Fools and Horses Theme Music, a search through youtube will show how many different versions there are; some by established artists, some by lesser known artists and some by enthusiastic fans.”

“Chas & Dave, were offered the theme tune, but they were touring in Australia so could not do it. Of all the versions on youtube, theirs is the one that feels most true to the original. For me there are two cheery stand out versions; the Bud Sugar version BacaryBax Channel has a hint of Mungo Jerry about it. There is also the Thrill Collins version on the Andrew Lansley channel which is a very fine example of an acoustic almost skiffle version.  Herbie Mee, Tim Grady and numerous others appear in the solo guitar and voice category.  If you’re into dance music then Danny Byrd’s techno version might just be for you, there’s also a couple of drum and base versions kicking around. Fancy a jazzy version then check out Ana Stajdohar Kunststück  on channel Selixds with John Challis reading on the sofa. If we take another ever so slight diversion then there is the wonderful Ginja Ft LeeO – Delboys tune with cameos from Marlene, Boycie and Mickey.  From Wales Skinny Monkey offer an almost prog rock version on Dave Davies Channel which takes a while to get going, but certainly has it’s own little something. If you like your metal heavier, then Deadly Moshpit on the Ivana Stojanovic  channel should be for you.  So why should I do a version? My version, as The Sullivan Sees, is an 80s indie style version almost completely recorded on the iphone. A splendid animation(why isn’t there an Only Fools cartoon?) by Rachael Purdy keeps you entertained with some additional cockney references. I’m biased and wholeheartedly recommend The Sullivan Sees version, but there is something in the youtube assortment box for all.”
