Rock & Chips – Behind the Scenes images
The Margate pub scenes were filmed at The Oaks, a short walk from Coppermill Quay in Harefield.
Pub manager and lifelong fan of the show, Lisa Duncan, 39, said:
“The camera crew called us about four weeks ago and said they were interested in filming here, as it is such a rural location.”
“They arrived at 7.45am and spent most of the day transforming a corner of the building into a little old pub in Margate.”
“They put up a false wall, jukebox, cigarette machine and nautical-themed décor including a barometer, plus there was a Ford Consul Mark 1 parked outside.”
Ms Duncan went on to say the crew filmed late into the night.
“It was bizarre seeing the pub half light and dark, as the crew used special night lighting to make it look like they were filming during the day.”
“The highlight was definitely meeting Nicholas Lyndhurst and David Jason, who both couldn’t have been more friendly.”
