One of Shropshire's
prettiest villages is set for fame and fortune thanks to the East
End wideboy Boycie.Ratlinghope, in the picturesque Shropshire Hills, is being
featured in a BBC sitcom called The Green, Green Grass, which is a
spin off from the hit series Only Fools And Horses.
It will be aired on BBC in autumn during a seven-programme run
and will star John Challis, the Herefordshire-based actor, who
starred as Boycie.
Mr Challis and a 40-strong film crew descended on Ratlinghope
to film scenes at The Horseshoes Inn, in Bridges.
Today landlady Maureen Macauley said: "The people who came
along with Mr Challis were lovely."
In The Green, Green Grass, Del Boy's mate Boycie has moved
from London for a new life in the countryside with wife
Marlene.
