Viva England 2004

Get ready for 'Viva England' released on 21st June and set to the theme tune of the multi award winning TV show 'Only Fools and Horses', this is the only Euro 2004 song you need this summer.

 

 

'Viva England!' is the brainchild of John Matthews, lead singer with Undercover.  John is a huge 'Only Fools and Horses' fan, some might say their number one fan (he owns his very own yellow Reliant Regal Supervan 3), and he like everyone else was fed up of the poor excuses for football songs being released in the run up to Euro 2004.

 

 

 

 

 

With the exception of Three Lions no football song has captured the hearts of the nation...until now.  John came up with the unique plan of turning the theme tune to the UK's best loved sitcom, into the people's football song.  Writing up a list of all the influential managers and players from over the years John replaced the lyrics to the theme tune of 'Only Fools and Horses' to make it the best football song around, what soundtrack could better to get the country going, a tune that makes us proud to be English.

 

John Matthews arranged a meeting with John Sullivan's agent (the creator of 'Only Fools and Horses') who was so impressed with it he immediately took it to John Sullivan to play, and he loved it so much he gave his blessing for the track to be released.  John Sullivan's wife was so impressed with the track she actually thought it was her husband singing it!

 

'Viva England!' is the people's football song, it's a real sing along record that's soon to have the fans singing on the terraces, footballs about enjoyment, not politics, so all together now 'VIVA ENGLAND!'
