Its always nice when new items are uncovered that are Only Fools and Horses related.
Perry Aghajanoff, the chairman of the Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society was recently having a root around for something and came across a few more gems which he shares below. As always the best way to see anything from his collection is to book your tickets for the annual convention.
Happy Returns uncovered
For example here is a shot of the filming during “Happy Returns” This was the first episode of series 4, and was first broadcast on 21 February 1985. Look at the lighting and equipment above the studio walls.
One of the recent finds was an actual photo of the filming of Series 4, the one episode that spoke of Grandad but we never see him. Mickey Pearce is up to his old tricks and Rodney isn’t going to take any nonsense.
knowing how they work I would say almost certainly just re-dressed – it cost a small fortune to build the flat in the studio – about £175 a yards(just the walls) in 2001 – considering the budget wouldn’t have been as big then as it was later they would never have built two flats – especially when they had one built already
Thanks Perry, much appreciated.
Brilliant find again! Thanks to Perry and the society for continually coming up with these gems.
One thing I’ve always wondered about this episode is did they build another set or just re-decorate Del’s flat for the scenes in Junie’s flat as they were architecturally the same?
I always wondered this, I’d say i’m 90% sure it’s the same set as the trotter flat but redecorated.
Does anyone know for sure???
