Grandads shirt isn’t the most beautiful image you could drop into our minds. But listen to the latest article from Perry on the subject…..
I’ve often been asked what is my favourite prop or costume, and to be honest it’s changed many times over the years since I started collecting in 1994.
One of the things that I’ve always regretted is never having met lennard Pearce, or having any great piece of memorabilia relating to him, I’ve got autographed photographs and signed letters, but I’ve always wanted a original grandad costume. So we present Grandads shirt …
One of the shirts that I’ve always had in the collection is labelled up only fools and horses by the BBC and has the name uncle Albert written inside, but over the years I’ve never been able to see it on screen.
Then just the other day there it popped up being worn by Grandad, it’s funny but my subconscious mind can only ever picture grandad wearing pyjamas, but he has worn shirts a few times.
I don’t know who, how or why it’s labelled for Buster , but as you can probably guess it’s gone straight to the top of the league as one of my favourites.
Definitely Uncle Albert’s shirt.

Maybe not. Hard to tell without a close-up of the shirt. I don’t think it’s Grandad’s though, at least not the one in the picture of him. Different style of button and his doesn’t look as patterened.
