- In Happy Returns, When Del first gives the boy 50p, the boy says thankyou etc. then when Del gives him the 2nd 50p, you can tell that it is the same shot but just a different camera angle as the 1st 50p,look at the dubbing
- In Happy Returns, in the last scene, Rodney says “we only live 50 yards across the estate” yet at the begining of the episode you see Del getting into the van. why drive 50 yards you lazy git!

- In Happy Returns, Del enters June’s flat, and closes the door behind him, to talk about Debbie being his kid, when June goes to turn on the lights the door magicly swings opens and Del closes it again.
- In Happy Returns, if you look closely, you can see that the set used for Junie’s front room is the same as the one used for Del’s
- In Happy Returns, June’s son, Jason, is also the lad who played Heather’s son Darren in Diamonds are for Heather.
Happy Returns Script
Did You Know?
June’s flat is quite clearly a re-dressing of Del and Rodney’s flat. It is excusable, though – on an estate of flats, it’s quite fesable that the layout of each flat would be almost identical.
Leonard Pearce didn’t appear in this episode as he was in hospital at the time and the cast and crew had to begin filming without him. Shortly after, someone arrived on the set to inform them that Leonard Pearce had sadly passed away.
An extremely difficult episdoe to right without one of the main characters, yet it won the teams first BAFTA award.
Junie is now Nana Mcqueen in hollyoaks!
In a couple of scenes it looks a little bit like David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst are on the verge of tears, most noticeably when Del is telling Rodney about his “situation”. Presumably the scenes were shot very soon after Lennard Pearce passed away
