Hole in One is a pivotal episode for every Only Fools and Horses fan. As you will know that it was filmed twice, once with Grandad, which episode has never been found for broadcast, and then once with the broadcasted episode Uncle Albert.
These two incredibly rare photographs from the episode Hole in One have been discovered, which give additional support to that original episode.
Have a look closely and yes that is actually Lennard Pearce getting ready to fall down the cellar
Lennard started filming this episode before his tragic death, and a few photos do exist of him outside the courtroom
But we are pleased to show these two alternates pictures in what surely must be Lennards last ever filming location shoot
All the footage was definitely destroyed? I wonder if the BBC are being 100% genuine when they say that or whether they don’t know everything themselves. If what was completed was ever released it would bring in a lot of money!!
I know it isn’t about money and so it shouldn’t be, but you never know how certain minds work.
It could’ve been taken home by someone with future ££££££ in his/her hands, although it was 40 years ago now.
Yeah, I would Love to see the footage of the scenes involving Lennard :)
It would be nice if one day they suddenly appear.
It would be a real treat for the fans and I also feel a great tribute to Lennard as well :)
I really dont think any footage featuring Lennard exists.
I could be wrong, but I would be ultra-shocked if there is anything left from the original episode of a hole in one. When Lennard died – they had all footage destroyed out of respect for him (as far as I know anyway, although I cannot remember where I read/heard that)
I would love to see it happen. But I really dont think footage will ever surface.
Lennard’s last ever appearance in only fools, was in the rare episode made in 1984 called ‘licensed to drill’
From what I understand, as far as I know anyway, all footage featuring Lennard in this episode was sadly destroyed.
all that exists, are a few pictures online of Lennard, in a hole in one.
It’s a shame that no footage exists, as seeing it would be a real treat for fans.
Although the scene where Mike is looking up from the cellar saying “I want a word with you trotter!” is from the original take and you can just see part of Grandad’s scarf at the edge of the screen.

Does anyone know how complete the Grandad version of Hole in One was before Lennard died? It would be amazing to watch any footage- even fragments.
It was in one of the books that the footage was destroyed.
I think Lennard was about half way done, and had about another half of scenes left to film (I think, but not totally sure)
As much as I would love to see clips of the original episode, I completely understand why they destroyed all footage, as it was a mark of respect for a much missed man.
