The Joan Mavis Trotter Grave was seen at least two times in Only Fools and Horses.
Memorably it was given a coat of paint by the caring Del Boy in the classic episode The Yellow Peril.
Del has some hooky paint from Trigger. So he gets a painting and decorating job at a Chinese restaurant. What he doesn’t know is that the paint is fluorescent and is nicked from the railway. Of course it then occurs to Del that he had painted the Joans grave. A trip at night reveals the horrendous mistake he has just made.
The secound time we see the grave is in the very last episode in 2003. Rodney has a new born daughter. He has just learned about his father Freddie Robdal and now goes to Joans Grave stone in the cemetery. Del asks Rodney if he came up with a name for his daughter. Rodney just hints at Del to look at their mother’s grave, which now reads: “Here lies Joan Mavis Trotter. Fell asleep 12 March 1964. Wife of Reg. Mother of Del Boy and Rodney. Grandmother of Damien and Joan.” Finally, as they’re leaving the cemetery, Rodney asks Del if he’s anything like his father, Freddie the Frog. They then leave the cemetery and drive off in their three-wheeled van back home to Nelson Mandela House, with a new Joan Trotter for the world.
