Is it possible that John was inspired by an original 1930s Jolly Boys Football Club which went on there very own Jolly Boys Outing?
Only Fools and Horses fan Jean Harding contacted me recently with incredible early 30s photo.
She told me, “I have a photograph of a charabanc outing which took place about 1930/1932 of the Jolly Boys F.C. The football team consisted of customers of the Bird in Bush and Cranbrook Pubs in Peckham and wondered whether this was connected to the Jolly Boys Outing episode?
I’ve scanned the photo, it’s a little faded being approx. 70 years old but wonder if this was part of the original research into the background area for the series. My husband’s father and uncle were two of the football team and are featured in the photo. I would like to know if you find out any information. Your comments would be appreciated”

So do you think this may of inspired John Sullivans legendary episode?
I love seeing photos like this, we all know OFAH isn’t real (don’t we??), but seeing pics like this brings it to life!
