Nicholas Lyndhurst
Nicholas Lyndhurst is of course most famously known for his sitcom character Rodney Trotter in Only Fools. But its worth noting that Nicholas started his acting career at the age of 13 in Heidi as Peter back in 1974. As a child student at Corona Stage Academy, he appeared in a succession of television commercials and children’s films.
Nicholas Lyndhurst a few years later at 15 he played Prince Edward in The Prince and the Pauper. In 1978 he continued to grow in his tv roll as a young teenager in an episode of The Tomorrow People.
His first big break came in 1978 as Adam Parkinson in Butterflies this set him up nicely for his Only Fools and Horses role as he was now recognised as a good actor.
Only Fools and Horses ran from 1981-2003 and Nicholas Lyndhurst played Rodney Trotter in every episode.
During and after his role in Fools and Horses, Nicholas also appeared in The Two of Us as Ashley Philips. The Piglet Files as Peter Chapman and Goodnight Sweetheart as Gary Sparrow.
Nicholas Lyndhurst in recent times is having success in a sitcom i rate highly – After You’ve Gone playing the hard-done-by father of two : Jimmy Venables.
What a treat to see Nick in Rock & Chips as Freddie Robdal. He played the 1960’s gangster father of Rodney Trotter in the prequel to Only Fools and Horses
There are very strong requests for more Rock & Chips and it’s beleived that Nicholas Lyndhurst isn’t against the idea.
