The Society recently met up with Steven Woodcock aka Jevon for an autograph signing session (click here to order)
Steven was good enough to give the Society his original script for Yuppy Love
Whilst flicking through it we soon realised it was an early version of the episode. It’s now common knowledge that the Trigger part was only written in to the famous bar scene at the last minute. Well now we can all see how John Sullivan originally envisaged the scene – it also shows the incredible skill of the man to turn the page that we see here in to the version we all know and love. Apparently he did all this in 10 minutes flat.
So enjoy for the first time a chance to read the original scene of Yuppy Love…
A Copy of the original Yuppy Love script
SCENE 12 . INT. WINE BAR. NIGHT. STUDIO .
DEL IS LEANING CASUALLY AND VERY COOLY ON THE BAR FLAT. (MAYBE HE HAS DONNED HIS SHADES AGAIN)
HE IS EYEING TWO YOUNG LADIES SEATED AT A TABLE.
ONE OF THE YOUNG LADIES TURNS AND CATCHES EYES WITH DEL.
DEL SMILES, COOLLY, AND NODS A GREETING.
THE GIRL RETURNS THE MEREST OF SMILES AND TURNS AWAY.
INSPIRED BY THIS TINY SUCCESS, DEL LEANS OFF COUNTER AND LIGHTS A CIGAR.
AS HE DOES SO, THE BARMAN EXITS FROM COUNTER AREA, LEAVING THE BAR FLAP UP.
DEL NOW LEANS COOLLY ON THE NON-EXISTENT FLAP AND CRASHES STRAIGHT THROUGH AND ONTO THE FLOOR. (HE DOESN’T CRY OUT IN ALARM – HE’S TOO COOL FOR THAT)
CUT TO:
Brilliant!!!!!!!!!
How do you lot manage to get hold of these guys?
