New Prequel\u00a0Comedy\/Drama now filming:<\/h2>\n

Rock ‘n’ Chips is now being filmed and it looks amazing. Based in the 1960’s<\/p>\n

The BBC have given the go ahead and filming is now taking place with it\u00a0expected to be shown in the new year. It will be a one-off 90 minute drama promising to give us the background to these loved characters.<\/p>\n

We are all familiar with the\u00a0mysterious character, named Freddy Robdal,\u00a0He is rightfully played by Nicholas Lyndhurst, who starred as Rodney in the long-running series.<\/p>\n

The cast for the workingly-titled\u00a0Sex, Drugs & Rock’n’Chips<\/em> has been announced – and it’s a very exciting mix.<\/p>\n

Telling the Only Fools and Horses<\/em> backstory will be Inbetweeners<\/em> star James Buckley<\/strong> as a teenage Del Boy, while Nicholas Lyndhurst<\/strong> will return to Peckham, this time as Freddie ‘The Frog’ Robdal\u00a0 – an ‘art connoisseur’ with more than a passing resemblance to the future Rodney Trotter.<\/p>\n

\"Del“Rock’n’Chips<\/em> hurtles us into the rough and unglamorous world of London in 1960 to discover the circumstances that led to Del and Rodney Trotter turning out the way they did,” said writer John Sullivan.<\/p>
