My daughter Heather & I were priviliged to be in attendance at the Blue Plaque unveiling ceremony. It was a truly unforgettable day, often poignant, sad and with some wonderful and fitting words of tribute for John Sullivan. All were hearfelt and richly deserved. As I am sure John would have wanted there were also such fond memories, laughter and happiness from those that knew him and for us who just loved and so appreciated his work.

The plaque is a fitting tribute to his memory. I felt honoured to be there and I thank Perry & David G for the opportunity to be a part of this very special day. For every fan I think seeing Sir David and Nicholas back together was wonderful and to share the day with the actors & production team from so many of John’s shows made for a marvellous day. I thank everyone for their warmth and friendship towards us on this special day. A particular mention for Jeffrey Holland who I think just captured every mood & emotion so well and led the day’s proceedings brilliantly.

Finally, to meet the brave men representing bomber command was an honour. Thank you everyone Bob

RIP – John (genius) Sullivan. He was kind enough to send me a signed photo and letter. I will cherish this as I will my other Only Fools items. Long live OFAH

    Thanks
    Colin

In about 2003, I wrote John a letter and never sent it.

Gawd knows why I didn’t send it on. I don’t think I actually finished it. I was hoping for a signed photo in return but wouldn’t have mattered if he didn’t. I just wanted him to know how much I bloody loved the bloke for creating this sensational comedy.

He knows how much he was loved as a writer and how loved OFAH is still to this day. And will be more many more decades.
