Just browsing round some ‘fools’ stuff cos its’ a very slow day in August 2019.

The dates on this thread suggest that it’s unlikely anyone will pick up this comment…
    …but anyway here goes.

I can confirm that this is from Touch Of Glass from Series 2. I was Production Manager on Series 3 & 4 .

I can also confirm that ‘the guy on the right’, may look like Colin Jeavons who played Solly Atwell….but it isn’t. It is in fact the inestimable Ray Butt who, along with John Sullivan, started the whole ‘Fools’ shebang.

God bless you John and Ray .

Its from the opening scene from a touch of glass. The village hall is in Sutton Waldron, Dorset. I was there yesterday…..it hasnt changed much in 30+ years. Its not hard to figure out?????

1000% “A touch of Glass” I also love the fact that when watching it back the number plate on the 3 wheel van is “APL 911H” which is different from the other episodes.

  5. Amber says:

It’s definitely ‘A Touch of Glass’ without a doubt.

How can anyone think this is Healthy Competition is beyond me. Rodders was wearing a suit in that auction scene; plus Grandad wasn’t in any of the outside scenes. I agree with the other, it’s a Touch of Glass.

  8. Makbul says:

How can anyone think this is ‘Healthy Competition’? The auction scene in that had Rodders in a suit plus Grandad wasn’t involved in the outside scenes. I concur with the others and say it is ‘A touch of Class’.

  9. Lawrence says:

I think it could be “A touch of glass” as right at the beginning it had a scene where they had come out of the auction and del had bought cats that plays a song about a dog!
