3 Men, a Woman and a Baby Episode Review
Brief: Del’s about to become a father but even that can’t cheer Rodney-the-vegetarian up. The Polar Cap is melting, the rain forest is dying, the sea is being poisoned. Maybe one of Del’s new Ponytail wigs could enhance his image in Cassandra’s eyes…

Del is trying to flog wigs for men to a bunch of ‘old tarts’ at The Nags Head. Cassandra gives Rodders the push for lacking ambition and not being part of the marriage.
Rodney has also turned vegetarian, much to the mockery of the rest of the Trotter clan. When he receives a call from Cassie asking him to visit her, he plays it cool. She is unimpressed at the attachable ponytail he wears to impress her when he arrives.
In no time they are back together, and very much in love. Their embrace is interrupted by a phone call. Raquel has gone into labour.
Episode Observations
- In Three Men, a Women and a Baby, When rodney and albert are waiting outside the delivery room albert was smoking a pipe and rodney a cigarette. If you watch behind albert when he’s smoking his pipe you can see smoke being blown in from behind him. Which is obvious that his pipe isn’t lit but there is a smoke machine behind him.
- In Three Men, a Women and a Baby, They didn’t cut the cord when the baby was born.
- In Three Men, a Women and a Baby, During the end scene, when Del is showing Damien to Mum, Raquel chips in with the line “and last” in response to Del showing Mum her “first grandchild”. Was this a premonition of the troubles Rodney and Cassandra were to encounter in the final trilogy?
- In Three Men, a Women and a Baby, when Del arrives at the flat with his box of crowning glory wigs, he is seen taking putting his coat on a coat rack near the front door. Check the flimsy wall struggling to take the weight of Dels coat.
- In Three Men, a Women and a Baby, the evil tune played when Rodney looks at Damien is different on the video to the one shown on TV.
- In Three Men, a Women and a Baby, the ‘Crowning Glory’ box of wigs is seen for the first time , however in “Mother Natures Son” the box can be seen again in Damiens room but printed in a different style.
- In Three Men, a Women and a Baby, When Del rings Cassandra to ask if Rodney is at the flat she says that it’s 11.30. However, the first time that we see Rodney and Albert in the hospital corridor the clock shows that it’s just gone 10.30.

This episode was 30 years ago bless del with his little speech at the end to his mum with the baby it was really touching. Anyone notice the end credits show Del, Raquel, Damien, Rodney and Albert together which is unseen for the rest of the series seeing characters pop up at the end of the credits.
Hi I didn’t see Raquel giving birth to her baby boy because I had my arm under my face.

-There is no smoke machine in view at all. Not even any smoke.
‘In Three Men, a Women and a Baby, They didn’t cut the cord when the baby was born.’
-The umbilical cord is never cut straight away – furthermore, it’s not something you need to see in a sitcom
‘In Three Men, a Women and a Baby, During the end scene, when Del is showing Damien to Mum, Raquel chips in with the line “and last” in response to Del showing Mum her “first grandchild”. Was this a premonition of the troubles Rodney and Cassandra were to encounter in the final trilogy?’
-Not a premonition at all, since Raquel clearly meant it in a humourous way she wouldn’t have another. Which she of course meant evidently! Also, Rodney and Cassandra eventually have a child.
When Del is eating his tea, most of the food disappears from his plate then comes back again and few seconds later.
My wife and I after having two beautiful little girls, now 2 and 4, are expecting our third and final child in January and went for our scan to find out the sex last week. To our delight it was a boy. After celebrating with a meal, and calling everyone to tell them the news, we came home and my wife asked me how I felt? I started to sing it’s coming home, it’s coming home, it’s coming, football’s coming home!!! Then insisted we put on this episode to see Del’s wee lad born.. Lovely jubbly.
