From time to time Only Fools and Horses fans like to get out and about. Bristol is certainly a great location for any fan of the BBC sitcom as the locations are plentiful. Darren Lovett has been on his travels and will now share his photos in a series of articles naturally called Lovetts Locations…
Nelson Mandella House Series 1 to 5
To avoid confusion Nelson Mandela House is fictionally based in London Peckham. Yet for the first 5 series, it was filmed in Acton at a block called Harlech Tower. This tower block on Park Road, Acton, West London, and part of the South Acton Estate is now called Acton Gardens.
Series 6 onwards Nelson Mandella House
Today we look at a newer block based in Bristol. The backdrop for the later series of Only Fools & Horses, mainly due to its popularity being impossible to film in London Acton. So it’s “Nelson Mandella house” in the sitcom but in real life, we are at Whitemead House
