We all love Sue Holderness aka Marlene and she is certainly a kind hearted lady each time I’ve met her. So why would we here on OFAH.net ever suggest Sue Holderness is less than kind? Well she is now starring in a romantic comedy at a theatre near you called “Less than kind”.
In this romantic comedy, steel magnate John Fletcher has risen to the colossal challenge of out-producing the Nazi war machine in tanks for D-Day. Five weeks later he can leave the government, file for a divorce from his unfaithful wife and marry his true love, the widow Olivia Brown. But an even greater foe enters the fray – Olivia’s son who has returned from evacuation, is now 17. He has joined the rising tide of socialists and is outraged at the thought of his mum marrying ‘the enemy’. Can John reach his true love and who will Olivia choose?
Less Than Kind will be at Oxford Playhouse from Tuesday May 14 for one week and will tour the UK for a further 7 weeks to Saturday 29 June 2013.
Sue Holderness is most known for her role as Marlene in BBC’s Award winning series Only Fools and Horses 1985 –2003 and BBCs Green Green Grass 2005-2009. She has played Annie in 3 UK tours of Calendar Girls. William Gaminara has played Professor Leo Dalton in 11 series of BBCs Silent Witness. Other TV roles include in Spooks and The Ralf Little Show. His writing credits include The Three Lions a new comedy for this year’s Edinburgh Festival, and BBC 1 Ella and The Mothers directed by Gavin Millar with Michelle Collins in 2002. Laura Doddington has appeared in many Alan Ayckbourn productions at the Stephen Joseph Theatre and in UK tours. Charlie Hamblett was in the sell out production of Arturo Ui with Henry Goodman at the Chichester Festival Theatre last year. He played Aerial in The Tempest with Ralph Fiennes directed by Trevor Nunn at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2011.

Hi Sue
You probably won’t remember me but many moons ago I worked at the EMI Elstree Studios in Borehamwood. I was married to Michael and have one gorgeous son and one beautiful grandson. Michael died of a brain tumour and it was horrendous as he was the loveliest man ever. I now live in St Albans, with a fab black lab in a three storey townhouse. St Albans is so ideal because there is nowhere to park so I need to walk everywhere.
I would love to hear from you and perhaps you are still living close to your parents, who I believe were near to Pinner.
Pleaser call me ot email me. It would be great.
