I am an avid collector and ‘Only Fools’ fan, aged 17, from Seaton in West Cumbria. Every year our local village holds a scarecrow competition and this year we decided to bring the Trotters to the village in their own unique style. My family and I worked incredibly hard with our “Luvvly Jubbly” entry which soon became the talk of the town! We have had hundreds of people pulling up outside, taking photographs and knocking on our door, each saying they had never seen anything like it, and that they simply love driving past it daily, as it puts a smile on their faces; so all the hard work certainly paid off! We had to incorporate a Royal theme, with it being the Diamond Jubilee year, and so we decided to have her majesty in the driving seat of the iconic three wheel van.
The local paper and media flocked to our garden to get their own pictures and to see it for themselves, having been contacted by local villagers. Our slogan for the entry was “This Time Next Year We’ll Be Millionaires Ma’am!”, and if we’d had a donation collection outside, we probably would have been!
Only Fools and Scarecrows
I have been a huge fan of the show since I was a ‘nipper’ and my collection is now taking over the upstairs of the house. I have everything from props to costumes, to scripts, hundreds of signed photos and pieces of merchandise. My family and I travel everywhere to all of the Only Fools and Horses events, and I have met almost the entire cast, including Sir David Jason. Without doubt there was only one theme we felt we could base our scarecrows on, and I hope you enjoy them, just as much as we and others have done so far.
Bonjour,
Jordan.
Absolutley Brilliant! I love seeing things like this…
I’m also a huge fan and am thinking of setting something up like this in my garden now too!
Thanks for the inspiration…
