Do you remember our dear Mike Fisher from Only Fools & Horses? Often known by his full name by Del Boy as “Michael”.
The long-suffering landlord of The Nags Head each episode had a mare with Del. Week in week out he would get caught up in one of Del’s deals.
Above all, we celebrate Mike Fisher from Only Fools & Horses today. Mike or Micheal as Del would often call him was the landlord of The Nags Head in Peckham.
Michael David “Mike” Fisher was a character and landlord of The Nags Head. His first episode was Who’s a Pretty Boy? (22 Dec 1983). His last episode was Time on Our Hands (29 Dec 1996).

Kenneth MacDonald aka Mike Fisher History
Michael David Fisher (born 12 December 1950 in Acton) is a fictional character in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses. Mike is the publican of the “Nag’s Head” and appeared in the show from 1983 to 1996. The publican is portrayed by Kenneth MacDonald.
Kenneth made several other interesting appearances. Firstly there were the adverts. Did you know he appeared in a Vosene advert (possibly after Modern Man episode where he burnt his hair using Del’s hairdryer (Electric Blow Torch) Secondly he was also known by the cast for the expression “who threw that” and showing a beer mat landing on his nose?
First time we saw him regularly on BBC
Of course, many viewers are familiar with him on other BBC sitcoms other than Only Fools and Horses. For instance, from 1974 he starred in the sitcom It Ain’t Half Hot Mum as Gunner ‘Nobby’ Clark. This ran until 1981
However, 2 years later in 1983, he appeared in the Only Fools and Horses episode “Who’s a Pretty Boy?” This was a pivotal episode. It’s where he was introduced to us as Mike Fisher
After that in 1992, MacDonald had a brief appearance on the Channel 4 soap Brookside as George Webb, a racist owner of a petrol station.
In conclusion, dear Kenneth, sadly missed. Actor Kenneth MacDonald died in 2001 so he continues to live on in Only Fools and Horses legend. Mike was said to be in prison for fraud in If They Could See Us Now.
Forget Al Murray, Mike was THE Pub Landlord. Even after his untimely passing in 2001 his presence was still felt in The Nags Head scenes without him being there.
