Back in the 15th September 1981, we enjoyed some classic flirting from Del and Rodney as they take Boycie Jag out for a spin and bump into Nicky and Michelle down at the nearby nightclub.
So what happened to these ladies who missed out on a slap-up steak meal from Derrick Duval and HotRod? Well, nearly 40 years later we get a chance to see these two ladies at a recent Only Fools and Horses convention.
On this occasion Joanne Good and Caroline Ellis, a.k.a Nicki & Michelle arrived with no evidence of smoking any astroturf. This, of course, is a reference to a classic piece of Sitcoms from John Sullivan as Rodney loses focus on the question, “What do you prefer, astroturf or grass?”

On this day 38 years ago, one of Rodney Trotter’s funniest ever moments aired for the first time when he and Del were chatting up two girls in a club.
Only Fools And Horses Appreciation Society also have the Uncle Albert and Del boy lookalike, as well as the ever regulars like John Challis (Boycie) and Sue Holderness (Marlene) and the Driscol Brothers, joined in case you missed them.
The Trotters’ night out doesn’t start too well, as they are chatted up by a pair of transvestites in a nightclub. But their luck changes in the form of Nicky and Michelle, who they manage to chat up and persuade them to write their telephone numbers on Del’s cigar pack, with the promise of a date next Friday.
Only Fools And Horses: Grass or Astroturf was the question that HotRod the Wimbledon Tennis champ had to preference. But what a 42 carat he made of that one in front of Nicki and Michelle.
