It’s very sad to hear that Roy Heather aged 79, died on Wednesday September 3rd, 2014 at 10am after a long illness peacefully in his sleep with his family.
Roy Heather has been seen by many fans on several occasions at our Only Fools and Horses Conventions.
Roy played Cafe owner Sid from some of the earliest episodes of only fools.
He ran Sid’s Cafe which is affectionately known as the “Fatty Thumb”. In later episodes he took over the Nags Head from Mike.

He appeared in Only Fools and Horses from series 2 onwards and his very first episode was “Long Legs of the Law”.
We are so grateful for the memories and cheer Roy brought so many fans over the years.

Lennard Pearce, Buster Merryfield, Kenneth MacDonald, John Sullivan, Roger Lloyd Pack, Roy Heather. Only Fools And Horses legends who are no longer with us. May they rest in peace. Heaven is becoming an even happier place.

Very sad to see actor Roy Heather (Sid) has passed on. Another OFAH great gone but not forgotten. RIP and thanks for the laughter Roy.
its sad when anyone passes, but such a great funny man that has given the greath british pulic so much laughter over the years, and even filling ken macdonalds boots behind the bar at the nags head, R.I.P to all OFAH that have passed including the creator him self john sullivan. i dont think anyone will be able to reach those hights of creating laughter of such high degree

any my thoughts go out to eastenders fans, who recently lost John Bardon who played Jim Branning very sad news. And yes John was in the episode ‘the longest night’ of only fools.

What a lovely fella,like many fools fans we met Roy many times at the conventions.He always had time for everyone (even when his arm was all strapped up!)He rightfully seemed proud of the following fools has.Our thoughts are with his family, Thankyou Sid x
