Greer Riddell recently interviewed John as part of a prime-time comedy radio show ‘Off The Record’ on the University of Warwick’s student radio station, RaW 1251am.
Take a look at the interview here:
We asked Greer how the interview came about, below she tells us the background.
The show is called ‘Off The Record’ on the University of Warwick’s student radio station – RaW 1251AM.
It is mainly based around comedy and television, so myself and my guests discuss weekly comedy news, our favourite shows etc…I heard that John was coming to the town of Kenilworth as part of his book tour via his Twitter Page (@BeingBoycie) and decided to email him through his publishing website (www.wigmorebooks.com) to see whether it was possible to speak to him as part of the show as Kenilworth is very close to our campus. I was surprised and also extremely excited when he accepted on the same day!As a huge fan of Only Fools and Horses I had many questions that I wanted to ask him already, mainly about what it was like to be on set and some of his favourite scenes. Yet as he was coming to the midlands as part of his show ‘Only Fools and Boycie’ we spoke about what can be expected from the evening and his autobiographies that he was here to promote.I’m not usually a very serious person so when it came to interviewing him, I decided to balance some of the more formal questions such as ones relating to the news Roger Lloyd Pack had sadly passed away recently, with some more light hearted ones. That’s when I remembered your website and decided to see whether John knew the extent of merchandise available out there. I’m sure not many people can say they discussed toilet roll with John Challis but I like to think that’s what made my interview unique!
