The Car Scene filmed but never seen.
What story line would this fit in with? We need only fools and horses detectives on this one.
A car scene involving Jevon and Mickey was cut out of the original script, but which episode would it of been in?
In addition to a few scenes i’ve seen in the studio to a live audience that never made it to the final cut, my recent visit to the show “An evening with Boycie and Marlene” gave me an opportunity to ask them whether they remember any only fools and horses scenes that never made the final cut.
Now we aren’t talking about the cuts that take place on the DVD version and differ from the original broadcast. We are talking about filmed scenes on the original script that were cut out and never seen.
John Challis recalls a very funny 5 minute scene between Mickey Pierce (played by Patrick Murray) and his mate Jevon (played by Steven Woodcock). One of them is selling an old car to the other. I can only guess this must of been in one of the episodes that sees Jevon used.
He appeared in five episodes.
– The Jolly Boys’ Outing (1989) TV episode …. Jevon
– Little Problems (1989) TV episode …. Jevon
– Sickness & Wealth (1989) TV episode …. Jevon
– Yuppy Love (1989) TV episode …. Jevon
– Dates (1988) TV episode …. Jevon
This story line wouldnt of fitted in with Jolly Boys outing
Yuppy love was already running 5 minutes short and thats when Roger Lloyd Pack who plays Trigger was free one evening and on the cuff John Sullivan and David Jason put together the legendary bar falling scene to pad out the episode. So if it was running short, it’s unlikely they would of cut out a car scene.
So my guess is its more likely to be from Little Problems, Sickness & Wealth or Dates
Any ideas?
The scene is from ‘yuppy love’ because you can see a red disco light above Mickey’s head in the picture.
because ‘yuppy love’ is the episode where Roddney dances with Casandra in the club in order to win that bet.
I’m fairly sure its Yuppy Love. Jevon’s tie is the correct colour and his necklace is necklace is under his tie (neither is the case in the other possible episodes). You can also see the black and white picture and the red uplighters on the nightclub walls form this scene around the section where Rodney and Mickey are talking while Jevon is off to try and chat up Cassandra and again when Jevon returns and before Rodney says he thinks she will dance with him.
I think it’s yuppy love. When they’re at the club with Rodders and he bets them he can have a dance with Cass.
Hi yes I think its sickness and wealth as Jevon and Mickey are trying to sell a clapped out cortina and they speak to Boycie about it who say’s they wont sell it, but the picture for yuppie love is the same with Jevon and Mickey standing next to each other is when they tell Boycie that they managed to sell the car.
Hi, I’ve just uploaded a rare OFAH outtake to YouTube, sure many people wont have seen this before, it’s from an old 90s blooper programme.

I think without a doubt its from sickness and wealth, as they talk about becoming traders, and there is a car discussion with boycie. furthermore it would fit into the storyline I think as they seemed to have the B plot.
Gotta be Sickness and Wealth as Mickey and Jevon are boasting to Boycie in the pub, about 16 mins in, about flogging a clapped out Cortina he said they would never sell.
Sickness and Wealth – thats sounds the perfect fit
Well detected Livo
Look out as I have another one for you in the next few days
Cool! I just wish I had kept the first gen recordings I made of all episodes when they were broadcast. Gutted as I presumed the DVDs where complete and so chucked em! Particularly S5 as they were the 35 minute versions broadcast only once! I felt certain I had kept S5 but it hasn’t turned up in my storage…yet!
Hi yes because in sickness and wealth jevon and mickey say to boycie that they managed to sell that banger that boycie sold them.
its deffinetley sickness and wealth they talk to boycie in the pub.i really really would have loved to see a bit of depth into the pairs partnership as the episodes that jevon is in are really funny and he is a good actor
I think this cut scene when Jevon is selling a car to Mickey is out of Yuppie Love because if you look at the picture on this page with Mickey stood next to Jevon because they both are wearing the same clothes as they are on the picture for Yuppie Love on the only fools and horses cuts-part 4 with the Yuppie Love pictures
Hi Liam – well spotted, but this is just a screen grab of yuppy love to illustrate Mickey and Jevon
as it was never broadcast i don’t have an image as such
I think Livo may have a point though
@Liam, do people ever call you Trigger? Even a Millwall supporter could work that one out!
