No one could ever forget Lennard Pearce who played Grandad in Only Fools and Horses from 1981 to 1984.
We are all aware of the shocking event while filming the 1st episode of the 4th series of Only Fools. This was when dear Lennard Pearce fell ill and shortly thereafter died. The original episode filmed was never shown. Most think the footage was destroyed and lost. Some used to claim it never happened.
But can we honestly say there was a last photo ever of Lennard Pearce? That’s possibly what Perry and the team think they have recently uncovered! It was only a few months ago the team found Grandad in Hole in One Script. Make sure you read that is you missed it.
With an amazing effort from the Only Fools and Horses cast to turn the series around. The team with John Sullivan’s amazing script adaption re-filmed the episode. In the past just a photo proving the episode “Hole in One” was even filmed with Lennard took a fair bit of searching. But a picture like this eventually came to the surface, which is solid proof Grandad was in the original filming. You can read more about this and other events and photos on our “hole one with Grandad” page.

Lennard Pearce last performance?
Super Only Fools and Horses fans will know how the episode ends. The last part of the broadcast episode shows Del Boy and Rodney leaving Grandad’s brother Uncle Albert Trotter behind in his wheelchair.
Here is quite possibly the very last picture of Grandad before we lost him. These photos have just been discovered!

Taken during filming of Hole in One which finally featured Uncle Albert, played by Buster Merryfield. This is very poignant and sad, but let’s all remember the legend that was Lennard Pearce truly was!
